BAH HUM BUG !

Ba hum bug | Etsy     ba-humbug – Holy Vacation

I am hearing a lot of that this year. Well around here sometimes I hear it on a normal year. LOL Some family it's just another day. Any holiday! Not just Christmas..... New Years, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Easter, July 4th, Halloween you name the holiday and I just about bet I could throw a rock and hit someone that hikes their leg up on holidays in general.
I can see how this stressful 2020 Covid year could earn that Bah Hum Bug title. Whether you believe every word about the "virus" or your one of those thinking it is a plandemic. It has not been easy in so many ways to even think about a celebration. Money, covid cooties, just seems like one thing after another.
Even if this holiday you are recovering from illness and feel really rotten or maybe this year you lost someone you love for whatever reason. I hear a lot of well no body is coming over this year with covid out there. True. It is discouraging to try to do something and get some kind of fun or thrill out of it.
Given all your Bah Hum Bug reasons for not doing anything that is more reason than anything else to do "SOMETHING" to acknowledge a holiday just so you can have one day of something good. We need more good days! Why would anyone want another blah, working or worrying day of just plain ol same ol ? We need more good days! So ok don't put up the big tree.
Just put up stockings.
Maybe go ahead and send out Christmas cards when you don't normally.
Make them all shiny and glittery so it will stand out in someones home and be a cheery spot in their house.
Take the cards you do receive and display them somewhere "for decorations"
If you are a baker.... bake something banana bread, cookies, pie.. whatever you like then share it with someone to make their day.
If your not a baker.... next time you make it to the store pick up candy canes to give to anyone that needs a smile.
Pick up Christmas cookies and give to your mail man or UPS man.
Write a note telling someone Merry Christmas and how much you enjoy something about them. A smile or laugh etc.
Hand deliver a card to someone and save postage.
Find printable gift certificates online to print out for something to do for someone, detail the car, baby sitting, to drive someone for the day, Take on a picnic on a sunny day
etc.
Call someone you haven't heard their voice in a long time and catch up.
Have pictures made of your family and share with other families.
Write a story about something that has happened in your life and share it with your kids.
Mainly just do anything that you will remember as a nice "different" day instead of just another bla same ol same ol day!
When it is all said and done and your old and in your rocker what do you want to remember or tell a tale about as same ol day or the day you did something cool or wonderful or fun with someone or for someone?
Speaking of which. I went through Mc Donalds today. I told the girl taking my money .... " I hope you get everything on your Christmas list" I saw her smile and say I hope so! I heard her as I was driving away telling a co worker .."She said she hopes I get everything on my Christmas List!" So she has something good to talk about today she doesn't normally hear evidently LOL.
