This is the most recent info I could find but I... like you... know things are not cheaper for sure.
Farming Insider Warns The Coming Food Shortages Are Going To Be Far Worse Than We're Being Told

This article starts about maybe a 1/4 of the way down the page.
So even if you grow your own veggies you may need to figure out
something different on the fertilizer part. Compost is a must but it
takes a long time to actually turn out enough to cover much ground for
the average home owner.
If you like to stock up on things now is the time. Whatever your
family usually eats is a good thing. Remember canned goods average 2 years if you go by dates on the can. Usually much longer
though.
Grains like corn and flour bagged up always put in freezer 3 days to
a week on the average to kill off bugs that may hatch out. I don't know
for sure but seems like bagged grains can go a year without getting
buggy out of the cold? Your millage may very depending on temps and what
they are stored in. That also includes mixes like pancakes and cakes.
Anything with those grains.
If your the type that feels like no big deal it all works out, great!
Your doing good with the daily goings on in the grocery stores your all
fixed up. If your concerned a little bit in general you may want to
take your plans off the back burner and bring them more up front and
work on them some.
Also be thinking about alternative recipes that you can use with less
ingredients. Eggless, flourless , gluten free, yeast free, are just a
few things. I'm not just talking about these things as if your trying to
have a healthier diet. I am looking at times when things may not be in
the stores or more than a family wants to pay for things. The recipes
are out there you just have to try them and see what your taste buds and
talents like about them.
I like projects. I have soo many projects lined up, and so many that I
need to finish up. As you all know I like to bake but I have been
trying to experiment with the gluten free recipes so I can see how they
work and if I can find something that actually turns out good with
normal pantry stuff and not things you have to order off amazon to make.
My husband has never been a cook of any kind. But with all this
retirement and getting his energy back from the surgery and all I am
trying to get him to learn how to make bread. He asked if I knew how
without a bread machine and I said sure! I just don't like messing with
yeast! I think he is actually mulling it over and will soon be trying it
out. Maybe I can get him going on sour dough after that.
I want to try some flat breads or just things that are good but don't
take yeast or even baking powder if there is such things.
Aaahhhh soooo many projects..... only so much energy and time......
Prices... I just looked at the receipt ... about $4 for a loaf of
sunbeam extra large bread and $5 for a gallon of store brand milk.
