The next day I told her I would see what I could do about her sweet tooth. I said it all depends on this tornado weather we are having today. If the electric stays on and the storms go around us I will find something to try.
Remember they are doing this vegan thing.... I found a recipe for Brookies.... it's a cross between a fudgy brownie on the bottom and a chocolate chip cookie on top so when it is done and you cut a piece you get both in one bite.
I added to the mess with a lattice of melted peanut butter and then chocolate on top of the sprinkle of peanut butter and chocolate chips, making it just down right lethal !It didn't need the peanut butter and the chocolate on top to make it taste good but it sure did make it pretty It made a 9 X 9 pan with 16 pieces. I kept 3 just to see if the recipe was worth keeping and doing again. Boy am I glad! WOW! they are just so darn fudgy, chewy, melt in your mouth and rich....... you can't hardly eat another one then again you can't help it.
I called Nikki and said your order is ready I made Brookies for you! .
I told her hubby they were ready to take home. She called and said NO ! She wanted my hubby to take them to her because she thought that if her's did she wouldn't have any by the time they got there. He has a notorious sweet tooth. So we laughed real hard and said ok and my hubby drove them down to her. I texted Nikki's husband and said never mind we delivered them. All he could say was .. Dam! SO FUNNY ! She for sure knows how he operates.
Evidently the first thing he did when he got home was to dive into the Brookies. He likes to put things in the microwave and make things really warm gooey and delicious. She texted me when he dove into one and said he was in the other room talking to himself saying "oh My God! These are good! mmmmm "
I laughed so hard.
I am glad they enjoyed it and I guess I can keep this Vegan recipe. I know vegan sounds nasty but in this case all it means is I just used applesauce instead of eggs in the mixture. I think I am going to have to put a skull and crossbones on it and save this for someone I am trying to impress, kill or just don't like and make fat. It all depends on how I feel about the person.
Here is the recipe if interested : I used regular flour though since we don't have a gluten problem in the family. Not only that mine were much prettier to look at compared to their picture.
