I Need a Volunteer

I found something to try out on the Internet. In the picture you see the red salt that is Sriracha flavor that's pretty hot.
The green stack is Wasabi flavor. I need someone to try each one for me. I can't even try black pepper. This I'm not even going to attempt!
I'm having loads of fun. I have applewood smoked flavored salt drying now.
Next I want to try some kind of strong flavored mushroom . That all depends on what I can find in the store.
I have to get this stuff done so I can start baking cookies for Christmas !!

Love and What It's About

I thought I would let a little bit of the hippy in me come out here lately.

On all my family emails I put LOVE mama or whatever.

I used to be afraid that one day I would sign something non family as LOVE whatever.........

Then I got to thinking about it.

I wonder what would happen if I started signing everything with Love ?!

Can't hurt anything in the world. How can saying something that nice be embarrassing?

I am not a everything is SOoooo rosy person. I do see the bad stuff out there in the world.

BUT I also know the power of WORDS!  I can't quote the spot in the Bible but I know it talks about how words can be soothing and healing and how that is the way we should be and talk.

Love.............. when you see it or hear it I can't think of anything bad feeling it makes a person feel.

Just for Giggles........... Why not some of you join me. If it feels to weird to just put it out everywhere just put it on one list or only to me. We all know what is going on . Just try it for maybe a month. I would love to know how it makes everyone feel afterwords.
I would love to hear Love Bob, Love John, Love Linda, Love Gerald, Love well you get the jists of it all.

You know I think more than anything it isn't how "I" feel when I use the word Love......... it is how everyone else feels when they see or hear it.

So if you see me sign off with LOVE you know what is going on I'm not trying to be a stalker even though really I probably do love you in some way. It is so much easier than not loving someone!

Governments as Preppers!

Now how can the government say Preppers are terrorists when they do the same thing?!
Yet you look at all these huge numbers and it is hard to believe that isn't going to be enough. Take that as a hint to all you preppers
No matter what you stockpile I just don't know if it can ever be ENOUGH.

With a pause in the news coverage and the good news of a hopefully not temporary time of no more Ebola patients the good news for any prepper is that this pause in the transmission of Ebola and the national media coverage provides a "free pass" opportunity to acquire more medical preparedness supplies that were heading toward severe shortages. Bleach should be near the top of your list, followed by medical isolation equipment such as latex gloves, Tyvek body suits with hoods, goggles, shoe covers, medical masks or full-face respirators, and so on.

Governments of USA and Liberia using opportunity to stockpile medical supplies
The federal government is using this opportunity to aggressively stockpile precisely these same supplies. A solicitation posted on October 14 at FedBizOpps.gov is requesting vendors who can provide four-year supply contracts for
"PPE products identical or equivalent to Life Science SMS Lab Coats,
Polypropylene Coveralls,
SMS Coveralls,
Suntech Microporous Film Coveralls,
Non-Skid/Water Resistant shoe covers,
Guardian Nitrile Gloves,
Rhino Shield Latex Medical Grade Gloves." [2]

Similarly, Liberia is also actively taking steps to stock up on critical supplies. An official document entitled "Liberia Ebola SitRep No. 148," authored by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, reveals that Liberia urgently needs 80,000 more body bags and a long list of other essential medical items: [3]

• 98,000 Kg of chlorine powder
• 990,000 hooded body suits
• 140,000 plastic buckets
• 2.4 million sets of examination gloves
• 1.4 million N95 face masks
• Over 500,000 goggles
• 590,000 sets of heavy duty plastic gloves
• 174,000 rubber boots
• 210,000 hand sprayers
• 4,800 backpack sprayers
• 3,200 mattresses

Ebola -- Good News Again-- It Can Be Done !

It is impressive to see someone / anyone do something like this and do a good job. It is encouraging to see it can be done. Even if it got so bad we had to do it on our own with our own family or community. It can be done.

Firestone Did What Governments Have Not: Stopped Ebola In Its Tracks

Firestone detected its first Ebola case on March 30, when an employee's wife arrived from northern Liberia. She'd been caring for a disease-stricken woman and was herself diagnosed with the disease. Since then Firestone has done a remarkable job of keeping the virus at bay. It built its own treatment center and set up a comprehensive response that's managed to quickly stop transmission. Dr. Brendan Flannery, the head of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's team in Liberia, has hailed Firestone's efforts as resourceful, innovative and effective.

Currently the only Ebola cases on the sprawling, 185-square-mile plantation are in patients who come from neighboring towns.

When the Ebola case was diagnosed, "we went in to crisis mode," recalls Ed Garcia, the managing director of Firestone Liberia. He redirected his entire management structure toward Ebola.
Levi Zeopueger, 40, was treated at Firestone's Ebola clinic and survived. But he lost 11 other members of his family to the virus.

Garcia's team first tried to find a hospital in the capital to care for the woman. "Unfortunately, at that time, there was no facility that could accommodate her," he says. "So we quickly realized that we had to handle the situation ourselves."

The case was detected on a Sunday. Garcia and a medical team from the company hospital spent Monday setting up an Ebola ward. Tuesday the woman was placed in isolation.

"None of us had any Ebola experience," he says. They scoured the Internet for information about how to treat Ebola. They cleared out a building on the hospital grounds and set up an isolation ward. They grabbed a bunch of hazmat suits for dealing with chemical spills at the rubber factory and gave them to the hospital staff. The suits worked just as well for Ebola cases.

Firestone immediately quarantined the woman's family. Like so many Ebola patients, she died soon after being admitted to the ward. But no one else at Firestone got infected: not her family and not the workers who transported, treated and cared for her.

The Firestone managers had the benefit of backing and resources of a major corporation — something the communities around them did not.

Firestone didn't see another Ebola case for four months. Then in August, as the epidemic raced through the nearby capital, patients with Ebola started appearing at the one hospital and several clinics across the giant rubber plantation. The hospital isolation ward was expanded to 23 beds and a prefab annex was built. Containing Ebola became the number-one priority of the company. Schools in the town, which have been closed by government decree, were transformed into quarantine centers. Teachers were dispatched for door-to-door outreach.

Hundreds of people with possible exposure to the virus were placed under quarantine. Seventy-two cases were reported. Forty-eight were treated in the hospital and 18 survived. By mid-September the company's Ebola treatment unit was nearly full.

As of this weekend, however, only three patients remained: a trio of boys age 4, 9 and 17.

"So we have these three," says Dr. Benedict Wollor, coordinator for the Ebola treatment unit at Firestone. "We are concerned because by this morning the 4-year-old was just crying."

A team is getting dressed in full body suits, gloves and goggles to enter the ward: a doctor, two nurses and a man with an agricultural sprayer full of disinfectant strapped to his back. Wollor says the team has a lot of work to do before they get overheated in their industrial spacesuits.
Currently there are three patients, ages 4, 9 and 17.

"They have to change Pampers, bedding, even bathe them," says Wollor. "Make sure they're clean. If someone is dehydrated, open an IV line. Imagine how we maintain an IV line on a kid."

These three boys all came from outside the plantation. So even as the worst Ebola outbreak ever recorded rages all around them, Firestone appears to have blocked the virus from spreading inside its territory.

Dr. Flannery of the CDC says a key reason for Firestone's success is the close monitoring of people who have potentially been exposed to the virus — and the moving of anyone who has had contact with an Ebola patient into voluntary quarantine.

By most accounts, this Ebola outbreak remains out of control, with health care workers across West Africa struggling to contain it.

Asked what's needed to turn that around, Flannery says, "More Firestones" — places that have the money, resources and unwavering determination to stop Ebola.

Ebola --- Yes MORE Good News

I found some more interesting news on how to combat EBOLA.

===============

This would be a really good place to research more about different types UV light and how to use it.
http://www.americanultraviolet.com/whats-new.cfml
How Ultraviolet Kills Ebola
How It Works: Ultraviolet Disinfection

Ultraviolet lighting has been used since the 1930's for disinfection, but how does it work? As you can probably gather ultraviolet lighting emits something that in turn disinfects the surface, air, or liquid that it comes in contact with. But can you really trust a light to do the job? The simple answer is yes, but how does it work?

The Sun Emits UV Right?

Your first thought when hearing about ultraviolet light disinfection is probably that- well the sun emits UV light so dont you think by now  we would have figured out that we can simply set items outside and let the sun do the work for free? You would be partially right in thinking this, the Sun does emit the right wavelengths. The problem arises in what actually gets through to the Earth's surface.
Ultraviolet Lights and the Sun both emit UVA, UVB, and UVC wavelengths. Ultraviolet lamps for disinfection utilize the proper amount of UVC wavelength exposure to disinfect. That's where it differs from sunlight exposure on the Earth. The Sun's rays have all three kinds of wavelengths, but only two of those UVA and UVB actually shine down to the Earth's surface. The UVC wavelengths are stopped by the Earth's ozone layer, and because of that, DNA based organisms including contaminants have not evolved to protecting themselves from UVC wavelengths.

What Happens When Ultraviolet Light Is Used?
When ultraviolet lighting is utilized for disinfection the light does all the work. UVC wavelengths penetrate the cell wall of the DNA based contaminant and alter the DNA of the contaminant. When this happens the contaminant is inactivated and unable to reproduce thus is essentially killed quite quickly. Based upon exposure intensity and lamp proximity most DNA based contaminants are killed in less then 20 seconds.

What are DNA Based Contaminants?
Bacteria such as MRSA, C.Diff , and VRE
Viruses such as Influenza, Ebola, and Pneumonia
    Yeast
    Mold
    Fungus

Today's Biggest Scare-Ebola
ARTZ/Pathogon Unit
Ultraviolet light has been deemed an effective way of helping to control the contamination of Ebola with surfaces after it is outside the host. The American Association of Blood Banks, Center for Disease Control, and various infection control journals have all provided some form of guidance on treating contaminated environments and have all recognized ultraviolet light as a valid and great tool for the job. Ultraviolet lamps are far more environmentally green than chemicals and there is virtually no issue of human error or not cleaning every surface. For example, the ARTZ/Pathogon unit can be rolled into an area, such as a patient's room after treatment, and can be turned on by a tablet and left in the room to clean. The air and all surfaces in the room will be disinfected in minutes while nurses or healthcare staff can spend time on other matters.

Ultraviolet lights and robotic units are being used in hundred's of hospitals nationwide! To learn about how you can add ultraviolet lights to your infection control practices visit the Healthcare Solutions portion of the American Ultraviolet website!

South Carolina physician to combat Ebola in Liberia with disinfecting robots | Fox News
http://www.foxnews.com/health/2014/08/19/south-carolina-physician-taking-disinfecting-robots-to-liberia-to-combat-ebola/

The Total Room Ultraviolet Disinfector (TRU-D) uses a modified germicidal light to zap bacteria and viruses. UV light energy modifies the DNA structure of viral pathogens, like Ebola, so that they cannot reproduce, and therefore cannot colonize and harm patients. With just one use, it has 99.9 percent disinfection rate.

"We developed TRU-D SmartUVC technology to combat the devastating effects of hospital acquired infections,” Deal said in a press release. “Unlike many diseases, Ebola strikes hospital workers more than any other group, making it the ultimate hospital acquired infection.”

The TRU-D robot is used in patient isolation areas such as the operating room and intensive care unit. Using Sensor360™ technology, which calculates the time needed to react to room variables – including size, geometry, surface reflectivity and the amount and location of equipment in the room – TRU-D delivers a lethal dose of UV-C light during a single cycle from a central location. Before the device is enabled, all drawers in the room are opened, all doors are closed and safety signs are put outside the room to ensure no one enters. The robot is then activated remotely.

Handheld Germicidal Fixtures (Blade)

The UVC Blade from American Ultraviolet is a handheld, portable UVC disinfection device designed to deactivate bacteria, viruses and fungi in spaces where traditional hard-mounted UVC fixtures are inconvenient to be mounted; and where portable devices have limited access. Common environments include laboratories and food manufacturing, including food storage and packaging .
In healthcare environments the UVC Blade is ideal for the disinfection of:
  • Hard to clean/reach surfaces such as remote controls, keyboards, equipment with many accessories, and inaccessible areas that require frequent wipe downs
  • Bathroom handrails, toilet surfaces, sinks, and other surfaces
  • Cell phones, chairs, door knobs, bed rails, tray tables, etc.
The UVC Blade can also be effectively used for mold remediation.

they have a whole list of lamps to buy this is just one starting at $100 - $175
Check it out and see if it will kill ebola and modifiy something cheaper for home/family office use.

( I still think Tanning bed lamps will do it also . Would have to check out the light spectrum first and they would be much cheaper)

Ebola --- Yes There is Some Good News

I admit it is hard to find but here is a little.
I thought I would post something positive for us to work with.
I will try to find more information on the supplements they talk about here and post that also.

Not only that if you investigate you can learn what your body needs as far as nutritional supplements or Nutritional Food to better arm yourself not only from  Ebola but even this seasons Flu, which I am sure will be high just for the shear fact everyone will be stressing out over Ebola! Either way it is hard to win.
Naturally if your taking any medications or have other health issues talk to whoever you get your medical advice from just to make sure you don't mess something up accidentally.

I left as much chit chat out as I could on the article and left what appears to be the important parts.

The Ebola virus outbreak is spreading rapidly

flu couple(NaturalHealth365) The news about Ebola continues to be bad. The reported death toll has passed 4,000, with just about all of the cases coming from Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. This past Friday, David Nabarro, the U.N. special envoy for Ebola, said ‘the number of Ebola cases is probably doubling every three-to-four weeks and the response needs to be 20 times greater than it was at the beginning.’
As the death toll from the Ebola virus continues to rise and the disease spreads, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) within the Department of Homeland Security are attempting to implement stricter measures to protect Americans from getting ill.

Will new airport screening procedures actually protect us from Ebola?

Starting today, at John F. Kennedy International airport, employees will be checking the temperature of travelers arriving from the most affected countries in Africa. Throughout the week, these check points will be conducted at Newark Liberty, Washington Dulles, Chicago O’Hare and Hartsfield-Jackson in Atlanta. According to Customs officials, ‘about 150 people travel daily from or through Liberia, Sierra Leone or Guinea to the United States, and nearly 95 percent of them land first at one of the five airports.
But, what happens if you’re cleared for travel and two days later you develop symptoms? How does this ‘stepped up’ screening procedure really help to eliminate the threat of Ebola?  Maybe those people in charge of public health should read about a “surprising solutions for Ebola“?

Don’t laugh: The CDC and CBP think that ‘new’ screening procedures will prevent the spread of Ebola

According to Secretary of Homeland Secretary Jeh Johnson, “These expanded screening measures will provide an additional layer of protection to help ensure the risk of Ebola in the United States is minimized.”
But, as admitted by most media outlets already, the case of Thomas Eric Duncan would NOT have been prevented with these extra ‘security’ measures because Mr. Duncan had no symptoms when he arrived in the United States. Which begs the question – ‘what can we really do to eliminate the spread of Ebola?’

We already have nutritional protocols designed to eliminate the threat of infectious diseases

Some people, on the internet, suggest that this entire ‘Ebola panic’ is being orchestrated (and staged) to depopulate the Earth and/or profit off human suffering by eventually forcing millions of people to take a vaccine, which is monopolized by the pharmaceutical industry. Either way, the sad truth is there are already proven strategies to prevent the spread of infectious diseases – which are being ignored by poorly-educated, government-controlled health officials.
In fact, I started to talk about this in a recent article entitled, “Five facts about Ebola suppressed by mainstream media outlets”.
You may already know intuitively that you’re less susceptible to infectious diseases when you’re well-nourished. Meeting your daily requirements for protein, iron, zinc, vitamin C, and essential minerals will allow your immune system to effectively manage cellular inflammation and minimize the risk of bacterial (or viral) infections.
If you want proof, about the power of nutrition to prevent, even reverse disease symptoms, just look up the work of Stephanie Seneff, Ph.D., Dr. Mark Sircus, Ac., OMD, DM (P), Andrew Saul, Ph.D. and Thomas E. Levy, M.D. – just to name a few pioneers, in the field of science and medicine. These health experts could offer so much great advice to the leaders of those West African nations – if only they knew to ask.
For example, the “multi-C protocol” would be a great way to neutralize the threat of any bacterial or viral infection.  I only hope one of the doctors in Africa can help us to spread the news.

Reduce your risk for Ebola by supporting the immune system

Conventionally speaking, I’m sure I’ll be accused of being ‘radical’ or ‘reckless’ to suggest that a strong immune system is our best defense against infectious diseases.  So far, conventional medicine has only suggested that we diagnosis and quarantine those affected by Ebola and ‘hope for the best’ – since we have no “cure”.  But, in reality, the medical literature is filled with effective ways to minimize the risk of viral infections.
Selenium, a potent antioxidant mineral, helps to protect our cells from free radical damage.  Interesting to note, the head of the CDC has already said he fears that Ebola ‘might be the next AIDS.’ Yet, not one word was mentioned about the work of Dr. Harold Foster – who pioneered the use of selenium and amino acids, plus antioxidants, for the successful treatment of HIV/AIDS patients. Dr. Foster said:
“Physicians involved in a selenium and amino-acid field trial in Botswana … are reporting that this nutritional protocol reverses AIDS in 99% of patients receiving it, usually within three weeks.”
Imagine, just 3 Brazil nuts can provide more than enough selenium for the human body per day. So, why aren’t we trying to improve the nutritional status of those afflicted in West Africa?
Vitamin C gets rapidly depleted by hemorrhagic viruses – which describes Ebola. In fact, at its end-stage, those suffering with Ebola probably have zero vitamin C within their body.  Instead of spending millions of dollars on ‘experimental’ vaccines – why don’t we test the effectiveness of high-dose vitamin C therapies for these infected patients?
According to Robert F. Cathcart, M.D.:
“My experience with giving massive doses of ascorbic acid orally to over 30,000 patients and with giving intravenous sodium ascorbate to over 2,000 patients would indicate that with Ebola and other viral hemorrhagic fever diseases that intravenous sodium ascorbate should be used in doses beginning with at least 180 grams per 24 hours. If the fever is not controlled or the symptoms are not reduced, the dosage and the rate of administration should be increased until they are controlled.”
It simply blows my mind that state health officials are not “experimenting” with the administration of IV vitamin C to the Ebola patients.
Magnesium is one of the most overlooked minerals for optimal health. In fact, according to magnesium expert Carolyn Dean, MD, ND, ‘most people are deficient in magnesium’ due to current farming and food processing methods.
Today, we’re lucky if we get enough magnesium in the diet – which suggests that supplementation is a must. Obviously, everyone is different – so start slowly and work your way up to see what works best for you. Couple magnesium with iodine, and you’ve got a great ‘first line of defense’ against unwanted pathogens.
Just to be clear, when the body becomes magnesium deficient – toxins can accumulate quickly – which speeds up the aging process and increasing the risk of premature death.
Vitamin D is widely known to strengthen immune function. But, before you begin a supplementation protocol, get blood tested. For optimal health, blood levels of 25 OH D should be around 60 – 80 ng/ml. Gee, I wonder, do you think Ebola patients are deficient in vitamin D?

Where there is no ..... Plus

Here are some really good ebooks to have on hand. Hard copies are always better but if you can't afford them right now this is the next best thing. If you are a Prepper concerned about our crazy world going upside down. These are some good resources.
Put them on a CD or even better a nice handy compact jump drive.
Many of these are really big files with 300 - 500 pgs or more so it could take a while make sure your computer is fresh and ready to work!

If you think it is cheaper to print out instead of buying a hard copy that will work to.

Hope this helps some folks

39 Years Ago Today

Just about 7 pm like now, I was marrying my hubby in a very well preserved Bonniville House in Ft Smith.
It was a small family affair. I had a square cake which at that time was just not to be had since it was well before the cake craze hit. It had several layers and it was beautiful of course!
My dress was candle light in color because that was also the in thing espescially for a antique house. I still have the dress. I didn't get lucky enough to have my daughter wear it or anyone else in the family. My mother made my dress for me. I was one of those women with broad shoulders and a bust that just couldn't fit into the ready made dresses properly. Get one place to fit and the other place didn't. The dress was champagne in color. The veil was full length Chantilly lace flowing behind me. The flowers in the veil were also the ones she cut out and hand sewn on to the dress with tiny pearls added to it. She sewed this all on a old peddle sewing machine that my brother Richard the electrical engineer had converted to electric some years before. A few years later someone stole that sewing machine but that's ok. I still remember and not only that I have my mothers mothers (my maternal grandma's) peddle sewing machine that was given to her by a neighbor after my grandmas house burned down. That machine I did some fancy prom dress sewing for my daughter! One of the dresses looked so good when she made a appearance at one of the band functions she was in the trumpets stood up and pretty much saluted her with some kind of tune! LOL Blondes in a strapless red dress have that effect on some folks in Jr. High School. LOL

Of course I can't fit the dress. Nobody told me life sure does do a job on the body sometimes. Hubby ? Now I know he could still fit his. I honestly don't remember much about the wedding other than I had long thin hair and no clue how to make it look good and my Aunt Gwen fixed it. I also had to figure out how in the world to get all that dress under control and to fit in the bathroom before the service. The photographer kept us so busy I really didn't get to do much. I know my brother Terry decorated the 914 Porsche and had a great time emptying the cans.

We didn't do a honeymoon. I was only 17 and had school to go to on Monday. No I wasn't pregnant I was just ready to snag this 21 yo truck driver! Which is another thing.... pretty cool to have your boyfriend then hubby come pick you up in a semi at school ! LOL

Here take a look http://www.bonnevillehouse.com/ isn't it really pretty?! Here are the photos they have online http://www.bonnevillehouse.com/photo-gallery/

If I wasn't too lazy to dig them out I would put some of the wedding pics up. I don't know I might some day soon. The stairway was really pretty to walk down and I was married in the room with the dark blue carpet and pinkish flowers.

We were talking about it yesterday and laughing. On the way to the wedding we had to cross the bridge from Van Buren into Fort Smith. On the way
over some his friends pull up beside the Porsche and asked what we were up to and where we were going. We told them we were on the way to get married. When we did arrive Mama figured out we forgot the monogrammed napkins and Hubby had to go all the way back to Van Buren and get them. I told him when he got back he had his chance to run then. We were outside yesterday and he said I guess I should have kept on driving when I went back to get the napkins. I told him it's way too late now! He laughed and said yep not much has changed you still forget things all the time. That's the way he is... just slips in a one liner every now and again and the way he does it just makes you giggle. He is normally such a serious man. Jon would do that too. When you least expect it he would say the simplest thing and have you rolling. The difference is Jon was smiling a little crooked smile when he said it usually.

We have done a lot of really quality living. Not bad for meeting the man in February and being engaged to him by birthday in April! I don't know how we picked October for a wedding month. No clue. But it has worked this long. I don't think either one of us thinks it's worth retraining and breaking in someone new. Nikki sometimes gets a big laugh out of us. Every now and then we hit that point where it isn't really a argument but trying to get the other one to understand what you just said is exactly what they are repeating to you just said differently is a challenge!

(Blessed. The only thing that could truly make it perfect is if Jon was still here.
I
fixed Hubby his favorite breakfast of bacon, mush and toast with OJ. He got to pick up a cattle check (pay day!) and had mexican food for dinner at a place he likes,I also picked up some of the miniature butterfingers he likes to snack on. I will go pick up a antena tomarrow so we can enjoy the TV channels instead of cussing them. Something we both can enjoy. Not a bad quiet anniversary day at all.)
