Looking at all the craziness going on I'm doing several things to get ready for whatever shoe drops next. Today I had our A/C ..Heat man neighbor go take a look in the attic to check all the air ducts. You know make sure everything is connected and nothing leaking. He found about 25 feet of older tubing in the back part of the house that was put in when the house was built or close to it. This house is about 40 years old. That tubing had some kind of insulation on it that has pealed off and needing replacement. He said it would cost about $500 and I don't know if that included labor. So looks like his next available time is Monday.... if he can find the tubing he needs to install it.
Yes that's a lot of money but electric may not be getting any cheaper also. Good thing we checked before getting more insulation blown into the attic soon.
I am still on the prowl looking for air leaks. This house is pretty tight but I think I can make it even better. I even noticed under the back door we had replaced in the garage not long ago there is a small gap under the metal plate that smooths the connection to the floor. I have me a handy new calk gun and I am ready to fire some goo into it! LOL
I'm going to wait until I get some other things done first. Got to find something to make the garage door less leaking still.
Something you other folks may want to check out also. Even if you live in a trailer house or whatever they are calling them now days. Don't forget to plug any mouse holes you may run across. I remember my granny use to put the top of a tin can over a hole and nail it down on the wood floor. Back then you didn't think much about looks it just worked. LOL
I have someone coming in to kill me some ant's that found their way in under the slab flooring into the bathroom today at least if they don't cost a arm and a leg. We sprayed but they are still coming and I sure don't want them all over the place!
So maybe by the time spring gets going good... It's here just not real good yet. We haven't had our first tornado warning yet! LOL
